Inquiry-based teaching engages students in work that mirrors what professionals do. Students exhibit deep understanding of content and can articulate what they know and think. Peek inside central Indiana classrooms to see what students are doing in reading, writing, and math in grades preK-8.
We periodically publish a large anthology of student writing. This book project not only features a wide variety of poems, memoirs, stories, articles and essays by Indiana students in grades K-8 but also typically includes visual art created by professional Indiana artists in response to the students’ written works.
Our book project attracts significant national attention, having been featured in Katherine Bomer’s book Hidden Gems and in art magazines including How and Communication Arts.
Each new anthology is celebrated with a book release party where the featured authors are presented with a copy of the book in front of hundreds of families, friends, educators and community leaders.
Copies of our most recent anthology, listening still, are available for purchase.
